My ideas

So I'll get us started...I personally think that programmes like 'The Bill' give a very positive view of the police - but this is not necessarily realistic. Are the police really that great? Do they really solve every single crime? Also, 'The Bill' now focusses much more on the individual lives and relationships of the people in the force - it has almost become a soap opera. Everything is blown way out of proportion. Does this encourage people to go into the police for the excitement and glamour, rather than because they want justice? What do you think?

I agree, i think that people may watch the bill and think that the police force is a glamorous job and may think that being in the police force would gain them authority. they may not be going into the police force because they want to help people, they may just like the idea of it. if they were to join up to the force they may find that it doesnt fit their "glamorous" expectations and may not like it.
